So I’ve been married for almost 29 years to this incredible woman who, get this, never wanted to date me. But I was persistent—okay, maybe a little too persistent, but not in a creepy way, I promise. She finally gave in. And then I tricked her into taking a train ride to Jasper and proposed right there on the shore of Lac Beauvert at Jasper Park Lodge. She’s amazing. She’s my core. My everything.

My son, Riley, arrived and changed our wedding date. Bumped it up to June from a planned November, 1997 wedding.
He is my rhythm. My pulse. My backbeat. He’s been a professional drummer since he was 12. He’s travelled the world and played the biggest stages. Lollapalooza, Coachella and arenas and stadiums in some of the most amazing places on the planet. He’s also played quonsets, flat decks and back yards in Edmonton. It keeps him humble and grateful. The Edmonton music scene has been remarkable in its support of him and so many other young musicians.
